13.8 billion years ago, the entire universe began from a single point in space. This is the Big Bang theory, the most widely accepted theory about how the universe was created. Scientists came up with this story about the origin of everything by observing that all the galaxies in space are moving away from us, including today. This means that, at some point, everything could have condensed into an infinitely dense point, known as a singularity. This singularity was also very hot. Another piece of evidence for the Big Bang is what we call the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation. This is the radioactive remnants of the early universe that can only be seen with a telescope. But what if all of this is wrong? What if the universe didn't start out that way? What else did we get wrong?
