The image of Jesus has evolved over time. For a long time, identified with the conquering and inquisitorial Church, Jesus was held responsible for the misfortunes of the Jewish people. At the beginning of the 20th century and even more so with Vatican II, Jesus was gradually rehabilitated as the Rabbi of Israel, close to his people and their traditions. Researchers (academics, rabbis, thinkers) in Israel and the diaspora are now devoting studies to him and offering him their trust. Through this conference, Rabbi Philippe Haddad presents this journey through some influential figures and some important dates. Rabbi Philippe HADDAD belongs to liberal Judaism and officiates at the synagogue on rue Copernic. Committed for many years to Jewish-Christian dialogue, he received the Jewish-Christian Friendship Prize in 2020. He is the author of numerous works dealing with the Jewishness of Jesus.
