The planned hospital reform is causing controversial discussions. Can technical deficiencies and numerous open questions be overcome? What opportunities and risks does the reform actually entail? Will it really create fairer and patient-oriented healthcare, or will economic constraints remain the guiding principle of the system? Together with Peter Hoffmann, co-initiator of Hospital instead of Factory, we take a critical look at the plans. Hoffmann makes it clear: fair healthcare is possible - but not if economic interests continue to take precedence over the needs of patients and staff. Without an end to the profit orientation, there is a risk of "cold structural change" in which clinics are closed for business reasons without considering regional care needs. We invite you to discuss together what a solidarity-based, publicly controlled healthcare system could look like - one that focuses on care rather than profit.
