In the Brazilian electorate, there are approximately 8 million more women than men. According to the Superior Electoral Court, the female vote determines the outcome of elections in six out of ten cities. And surveys indicate that, despite forming a heterogeneous group, they have common demands regarding what they expect from the State. And they also present specific rejections: in most of the country, women's voting intentions plummet in the face of candidates with extremist proposals and speeches; the opposite of what happens with men. To explain the growing gender polarization at the polls, Natuza Nery talks to Felipe Nunes, political scientist and research director at the Quaest Institute. Andressa Rovani also participates in this episode. She studies the female vote for her doctorate in political science at Unicamp and is a researcher at the Election Observatory and the Center for Public Opinion Studies, and also analyzes the increasingly polarized scenario of the United States election. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello!
