How do we use the city's unused areas? Welcome to a lunch seminar and report release on how we create a more attractive Stockholm. On the roofs, between the houses, under the bridges, by the water. There are many beautiful and exciting places in Stockholm's inner city that are unused or misused. It is a waste that we cannot afford. In urban competition, many other cities are ahead of Stockholm. In 2023, Stockholm fell 22 places in the Global Index for Living Standards. Other cities are considered safer, nicer and more exciting. It is decisive if talent moves to Copenhagen, Melbourne or Osaka instead of Stockholm. In short – attractive urban spaces are crucial in the search for talent, skills, business establishments, visitors – and for those of us who already live and stay here. That's why the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce has produced a new report that shows how much space in the inner city is left unused (it's more than you think). For that, we have been looking forward and collected examples, thoughts and ideas of what has been done in other cities. Because we don't want to be worse than others, right?
