My name is Father Elias van Haaren, I am a Franciscan priest and spiritual assistant to a Catholic prayer community for peace in the world. Our prayer community was founded in 1947 by the Franciscan Father Petrus Pavlicek in Vienna under the name RSK (Rosenkranz-Sühnekreuzzug - Prayer Community for Church and World) to pray for the freedom of Austria and peace in the world. In these 77 years, more than 2 million people have prayed for these concerns. We currently have 300,000 members worldwide. Of course, a lot has changed in this time. Austria is a neutral country, the Iron Curtain has fallen, and the name "Atonement Crusade" no longer seems understandable to many. That's why we now call ourselves a prayer community, because together we want to pray for peace in the world, a concern that is so important to all of us. For us, the source of peace is Jesus Christ and his gospel. Since many people have difficulty reading and understanding the Holy Scriptures, we would like to provide contemporary inspiration for a modern understanding of the Scriptures through weekly commentaries on the Sunday Gospel. We will also provide monthly answers to questions of faith. You are welcome to share these with us by e-mail, post or in the comments.
