Hello, welcome to my channel about occupational health and safety. In this video, I will explain the existing regulatory standards and their main characteristics. Regulatory standards, or NRs, are a set of rules and procedures that aim to guarantee the health and safety of workers in different activities and sectors. They are prepared and monitored by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, with the participation of representatives of employers and employees. NRs are mandatory for all companies that have employees governed by the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT). The NRs in force cover topics such as: ergonomics, fire protection, working at heights, working in confined spaces, safety in machinery and equipment, among others. Each NR has a specific objective, a defined application, its own structure and detailed content. For example, NR 1 establishes general provisions on occupational health and safety, such as the rights and duties of employers and employees, the responsibilities of the parties involved, the requirements for managing occupational risks, etc. NR 17 deals with ergonomics in the workplace, that is, adapting working conditions to the psychophysiological characteristics of workers, aiming to provide comfort, safety and efficient performance. In this video, I will introduce you to each of the existing NRs and explain their main characteristics. You will learn which standards apply to your line of business, which requirements you must meet to ensure your health and the safety of your coworkers, what penalties you may face in the event of non-compliance with the standards, among other important information.
