Currently, the Argo in its Drive CVT version is the cheapest car in Brazil with an automatic gearshift gearbox: R$90,990. For an additional R$6,000, the customer can get the new Fiat Argo Trekking CVT, an adventurer that goes beyond the decals and plastic moldings on the wheel arches: it has a reinforced and actually raised suspension compared to the conventional hatchback. The differentiated suspension makes it exceptionally pleasant to drive on the degraded asphalt of metropolises like Greater São Paulo. Now, the CVT gearbox has added even more convenience in this situation. The CVT gearbox manufactured by Aisin has seven pre-programmed gears with manual gearshift options on the lever. The 1.3 Firefly four-cylinder, eight-valve, naturally aspirated engine was recalibrated to meet the emissions standards that came into effect in 2022. It lost 2 hp with ethanol and 3 hp with gasoline: 107/98 hp (E/G) at 6,250 rpm. The peak torque dropped by 0.5 kgfm for both fuels and the rotation increased: 13.7 kgfm at 4,000 rpm (E) and 13.2 kgfm at 4,250 rpm (G). This is the same powertrain previously installed in the Pulse, Strada and Cronos models.
