Contractor Wemekamp (Hellendoorn) chopping maize, this time with a demo Krone GX 440 push-off trailer next to the chopper. We spoke to them earlier in the morning when they had just finished chopping another field, and they told us that they would have a Krone push-off trailer at their disposal on the next field, which would be interesting for us to film. The reason they would like to try this type of trailer is that they are looking for a universal trailer with which they can transport grass, maize, potatoes and beets, the current Joskin tippers meet those requirements, but a push-off trailer has the additional advantage that it can be unloaded as a silage trailer and can optionally also be equipped with dosing rollers. The next field was about half an hour's drive for them, so they marked the location on Google Maps for us so that we could drive there via a slightly faster route, and given the length of the field, we could also wait for them on the right side. Half an hour later we are standing near Dedemsvaart in the field and we also see the Krone BigX 650 arriving, and while the 12 row maize header is being unfolded, the Fendt 724 Vario with Krone GX 440 demo combination is also there. Because it is a fairly long field, we walk along with the chopper and wagon while they are filling it, and then we also see their John Deere 6215R and 6210R with the Joskin Trans-Space 7500/25 BC150 tippers being loaded. It is then a long walk back to the car, so Wim offers us a taxi ride on the BigX so that we can be back at the pit in time to also film the unloading of the push-off wagon. When we are close to the farm, we see the Fendt with Krone wagon driving in front of us in the distance, and we are lucky that it reverses into the yard so that we can reach it in time. After unloading the cargo, it is a return trip of over an hour for the wagon, and we decide to go home just before lunch, to be back at the pit for the second round in the afternoon, where we also meet Niels from Farm Media/Agrifoto, who is on the road on behalf of Krone to make images of the wagon. The pit work is done with a CAT 930M shovel, and the farmer himself drives along with a Massey Ferguson 5445 Dyna-4.
