About :

Kyoto Railway Museum's 8620-class steam locomotive, No. 8630, has been restored to operation after undergoing major repairs that lasted approximately two years. Although it is no longer registered, it has been in active service as a preserved locomotive at Umekoji for a long time. On September 17, 2020, it returned to operation within the premises as the SL Steam Train. This video captures the departure of No. 8630 from various angles, from the side, from the front, and from the connecting deck...and of course, the final turntable rotation scene is also included. *This video was filmed following the COVID-19 prevention measures implemented by Kyoto Railway Museum (disinfection, thermography temperature checks, etc.). #Kyoto Railway Museum
