In the first episode of the three-part series “Reed and Concrete”, naturalists introduced us to the past, present and possible future of Lake Balaton. Human activities have been testing the tolerance of the Balaton wildlife since the 19th century. Changes around the lake have had an impact on the state of Lake Balaton, and negative processes have repeatedly led to the deterioration of water quality. Although the state of the lake was excellent at the turn of the millennium, due to the changes that have occurred since then and the increasingly explosive climate change, experts say the situation has once again become so critical that it threatens the lake's survival. Our interviewees: Adrienne Hajósy: geophysicist-engineer, member of the 'Women for Lake Balaton' Association (NABE) Dr. Piroska Pomogyi: hydrobiologist Viktor Tóth: ecologist, senior fellow at the Balaton Limnological Research Institute Tibor Horányi: environmental management agricultural engineer, head of the 'Alba Natura Civil Foundation' Support Partizán's work too! https://csapat.partizanmedia.hu/fundr...
