The 20th episode features Nippon TV Tokyo Verdy Beleza's Hijikata Maya and Kashimura Nana. This is the first time that WE LIFE has followed two players at the same time. The duo, who are the same age but have birthdays two days apart, have played together since Nippon TV Tokyo Verdy Menina, the training organization for Nippon TV Tokyo Verdy Beleza. Although they are professional soccer players, they both attend the same university, wearing two pairs of sandals as athletes and students. We interviewed them as students along with the fierce battle at the end of the 2023-24 season. We will take a closer look at Hijikata and Kashimura, who are the future of the traditional Nippon TV Tokyo Verdy Beleza. ●Editor's note by the video production director This time, we interviewed the two, who just turned 20 in April. They are active as professional soccer players while attending university. On the day of the interview, they participated in Beleza's voluntary practice and then played eight basketball games as part of their university lectures. I was surprised by their incredible physical strength and cheerfulness, which is typical of 20-year-olds. During the filming period, I was able to cover two live games, but there was no joy on their faces after the games, and I witnessed a moment filled with regret. However, in the interview afterwards, they faced their own play firmly, saying, "This game has helped us grow," and their eyes were fixed on the next game, which raised my expectations for the future. Keisuke Sakaguchi, who is both the manager of Menina and the coach of Beleza, said during the interview, "The two of them wrote a lot of text in their soccer notebooks reflecting on the game." Next season will be their third season as professionals. I would like to keep an eye on her as she continues to shine while gaining more experience with each game.
