PART 3: The book “Nós matamos o Cão Tinhoso”, written by Mozambican author Luís Bernardo Honwana, was released in 1964, during the period of struggle against Portuguese domination in Mozambique. The War of Independence, which ravaged the African country for about a decade, is the main theme that appears as a backdrop for all the stories in the book. It is a sensitive and very accurate analysis of the colonial reality and, mainly, of the resilience of the Mozambican people in the face of the colonizer.
