Luiz Felipe Pondé does not shy away from talking about the issues of his time. But he also does not deny it: “Many of the contemporary discussions make me sleepy.” His passion for classic authors, from other eras and corners of the world, is easily noticeable upon entering the library of his apartment in the west side of São Paulo, where the philosopher received the Estadão report. On the 'tour' we took through Pondé's mega collection (which is only part of his collection), the intellectual highlighted Freud as an author he always turns to for his studies, who has a strong inclination towards the area of psychoanalysis. He also spoke about recent biographies he has read, criticized the most recent works of the Israeli Yuval Harari and told us more about his two favorite Brazilian authors: Machado de Assis and Nelson Rodrigues. This video is one of the episodes of the new Estadão series where we search through the book collections of different personalities, whether they are writers or not. The videos air on Estadão's channel here on YouTube every Thursday at 5 pm.
