Ronald Harwood, the author of the play "The Wardrobe" did this work himself at one point in his theatrical life, and later established himself as one of the most important British playwrights and the author of the excellent "History of the Theatre". The action of the drama "The Wardrobe" takes place in the atmosphere of the German bombing of England during the Second World War, and is focused on the relationship between the aging theater bard Ser and his wardrobe Norman. A story based on the inside and outside of the theater itself, under crisis circumstances, which takes place on a thin line where art and real life mix. Of course, this theme has been dealt with several times in the theater, but this play owes its popularity to the dramatic story that Harwood masterfully develops with the distinct demands of the actors. Dejan Mijač, who directed this play at JDP (the premiere was on January 16, 1994), entrusted the two main roles to two true magicians of the theater scene, Ljuba Tadić and Petar Kralj. Mijač guided this acting duet with discreet directorial decisions, but the rest of the ensemble also played important roles (Đurđija Cvetić, Olga Savić, Nikola Milić and others). This play, which is certainly one of the most significant plays of the JDP from the late nineties, was filmed for television in 1997.
