Hello, adventurers! Today, I want to share with you the incredible experience of walking from Pontevedra to Caldas de Reis, a fascinating part of our journey. Even though we woke up without much idea of the days, today is the ninth day of our walk, and, as always, we are full of expectations. The day dawned a little differently than usual, with cloudy skies and rain forecast until 11 am. But that didn't discourage us! We managed to leave the hostel early and, with the pleasant weather, we headed towards Caldas de Reis. One of the things we learned along the way is to value the little things. The privacy of a private room to pack your backpack, for example, makes all the difference on a long trip. Today, we were lucky enough to visit the church of the Pilgrim Virgin, which was open, a nice surprise on our route. As we progressed, we noticed the beauty of Pontevedra, even with the weather not being so favorable. The path offers us the opportunity to reflect on life and the importance of moving forward, regardless of adversity. Today, especially, we feel that each step brings us closer to our goal: reaching Santiago de Compostela. The diversity of the path also surprises us. We met people of all ages and conditions, each with their own story and motivation for taking this journey. It inspires us and makes us realize that, at the end of the day, we are all looking for something, whether it be an answer, a purpose or simply the experience itself. Along the way, we had to make choices, such as opting for the traditional route instead of the spiritual variant, which includes a nautical passage and more kilometers to travel. These decisions are part of the journey and teach us to consider what is best for us in the moment. Arriving in Caldas de Reis, after 22 km and 5 hours of walking, we felt a mixture of relief and satisfaction. Today's route exceeded our expectations in terms of performance, and we arrived early enough to rest and prepare for the next few days. The city is known for its hot springs, but as pilgrims focused on our objective, we didn't have time to explore this touristic side. Staying in Caldas de Reis was a pleasant surprise. We found a mini apartment with all the amenities needed to recharge our batteries. The location close to the center allowed us to have access to supermarkets and restaurants, which made our rest much easier. In short, today's stage was full of reflections, discoveries and overcoming. Each day along the way teaches us something new and motivates us to continue in pursuit of our goal. And so we continue, with our eyes on the horizon and our hearts full of hope, towards Santiago de Compostela. Until next time, pilgrims!
