This time, we're walking around Kamifukuoka Station in Fujimino City, Saitama Prefecture. Since the video was longer than I expected, I split the video of Fujimino City into two parts: Kamifukuoka Station and Fujimino Station. Fujimino City, formed by the merger of Kamifukuoka City and Oimachi, is a commuter town of Tokyo with a population of 110,000. Kamifukuoka Station is an old station that has been there since the opening of the Tojo Railway in 1914, and the town has also been around for a long time, as it was home to an army arsenal. Until 30 years ago, the area was covered in wilderness, in stark contrast to Fujimino Station, with its old townscape, but in recent years, the public housing complexes have been redeveloped all at once, and the townscape has been completely renewed into a new town. Despite the station only serving local trains, the shopping district and downtown area in front of the station show an extraordinary development.
