Waldemar Matuška's career began in Prague's Reduta and took off at the Semafor theater, from which he left in 1962 to join the Rokoko theater. There he began a relationship with his fourth and last wife, Olga Blechová, who was a couple with Matuška not only in private, but also on stage – their joint performances with the KTO Band took place both in the Czech Republic and in the USA. The wedding of the Matuškas took place in 1976 and the marriage lasted a beautiful 33 years. In May 2009, Waldemar Matuska died of pneumonia in Florida. Olga then fulfilled Waldemar's last wish - with her son's help, she completed and published the book "Waldemar and Olga - behind the scenes of our life", which in 2013 won the award for the best-selling biography of the year. Nightingales in gold – that's the name of the Czech Mint series, which represents an extraordinary tribute to the best performers of Czech popular music. It was introduced by the master Karel Gott, and the no less famous Waldemar Matuška is now standing by his side. https://ceskamincovna.cz/slavici-ve-z...
