The Golf is the most popular used car on the Dutch car market, but is that justified? We welcome driving school owner and instructor Luuk Hinneman with his Volkswagen Golf diesel, with 750,000 kilometers on the clock. We investigate whether this VW can make it to millionaire. The reaction of driving school owner Luuk Hinneman As explained, owner Luuk, Jim's father, could not be present at the inspection. So we presented the findings to him. His reaction: "I actually wanted to get rid of it, then you called. We maintain everything ourselves, we only take it to the inspection. It always passed that, so I kept driving. Also because you don't get anything back for a car with this mileage. " Luuk says about the points found during the inspection: "The Golf requires service, that's because we do the maintenance ourselves. The clutch has just been replaced, so that's why it feels like that. The shock absorbers have also just been replaced, they can't be worn out. The fact that an engine mount has perished is allowed with this mileage. Oil leakage seems unlikely to me, because I do not top up the oil. So that is an old leakage. Black smoke from the exhaust is because the particulate filter has been removed. The engine ECU is loose because it has been chipped, and that about those dull headlights is true. Those tires are indeed not much, I had put on more robust 18-inch wheels for the photos, but that was not a good choice. The ball joint is perfectly secured, only with a different bolt than prescribed because I had turned a bolt. Leaking constant velocity joints seems incorrect to me, because they are brand new. Those are probably old leakage traces. Furthermore, the car has been used for years with a trailer behind it for B behind E. That is hard work.” Also read the article on our website: https://www.autoweek.nl/autotests/art... Subscribe to the AutoWeek channel here: http://bit.ly/1uSYprL More information about this car?
