The São Paulo State Health Department (SES) confirmed, through the Adolfo Lutz Institute (IAL), the presence of norovirus in human feces collected in Guarujá (SP) and Praia Grande (SP), in Baixada Santista, on the coast of São Paulo. Norovirus is responsible for causing gastroenteritis, which has symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain, and is known as a virus. The infection is transmitted by ingesting feces, generally through seawater and food. The outbreak of the virus on the coast of São Paulo has exceeded 7,500 cases, according to a survey by CNN.
