A portrait of Vietnamese life in Lichtenberg. A film by Malte Voß In the film, people of different generations and with connections to Vietnam talk about their everyday lives in Lichtenberg. Some lived and worked here as contract workers during the GDR era, and thus had their own personal experience of the fall of the Berlin Wall. How have discrimination and racism shaped everyday life and how do younger generations deal with it? What does identity mean when you see yourself as a Berliner and as a Vietnamese? How can solidarity and cohesion be lived today and what does it take? The short film was made in 2019 as part of the Political Education Round Table. Camera: Ole Jacobs Editing: Malte Voß
