D: On the 6th December 2024, after 3 years of renovation works, the section between Schottentor & Karlsplatz on the Viennese Subway Line U2 was reopened. In addition, platform screen doors were installed at the Karlsplatz, Museumsquartier, Volkstheater & Rathaus stations, where the new fully automated U5 line will run from Karlsplatz to Frankhplatz from 2026 and the U2 will run from Rathaus to Matzleinsdorfer Platz from 2030. In addition, platform doors have been installed in Karlsplatz, Museumsquartier, Volkstheater & City Hall Stations, because the new automated Line U5 will run from Karlsplatz to Frankhplatz by 2026 & Line U2 will run from City Hall to Matzleinsdorfer Platz by 2030.
