Víctor Colmenares, a Venezuelan who suffered a spinal cord injury from a gunshot wound in his country, managed to successfully complete the Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Process, PIR®. Víctor spent a month in the hospitalization area of the Clínica Universidad de La Sabana, during which time specialists from the interdisciplinary rehabilitation group performed various therapies on him. After meeting the therapeutic objectives, he left the hospital and began the rehabilitation process directly in the area. After completing six months of PIR®, he managed to meet the rehabilitation objectives. “The doctors told me that because of the injury it was impossible to have control of my pelvis, move my feet or try to stand up, and I am already doing it. I still have a long way to go, but this progress is surprising,” he added.
