In 2019 I did the Ferrata Dibona but at the Rifugio Lorenzi we decided to go back down. After 4 years I managed to complete the last stretch, chasing down the 700m of devastating scree of the Forcella Staunies for just 200md+ of via ferrata! Once you reach the Rifugio Lorenzi you continue along the obvious via ferrata located a little further on. We follow it and finally the view around us begins to open up. It almost seems like you can touch the peak of the Cristallo. The climb is wonderful and we get lost photographing every corner.. I really missed climbing up here. Overall I found it simple apart from a few non-trivial points. You will reach a point where on the left, you will continue to the summit with a via ferrata, instead on the right you will see a long ledge, that will be used on the descent! The Cima del Cristallo di Mezzo is separated from the main summit of the group (Cima Cristallo 3,221m) by a deep gorge on the Son Forca side. The climb follows a route from the Great War along the northwest ridge, alternating between ledges and rocky outcrops on both sides of the ridge. Unfortunately this trip led me to inflame my knee again and to a forced stop in these last few weeks... ????
