Sometimes things turn out differently than you think. The plan was actually to climb up to the Scheibenkaser on the Untersberg, but a warning sign from the DAV put a stop to my plans. So I had to think of an alternative. From the Rossboden car park in Hinterettenberg, I went via the Theresienklause (Almbachklamm) to Maria Gern. A steep path led past the church to the Kneifelspitze. From the top, I had a fantastic view of Berchtesgaden and the surrounding mountain landscape. I was also treated to a view towards Salzburg.
