At the beginning of autumn, another full film for everyone: V 100 of the Reichsbahn In the 1960s, the Reichsbahn urgently needed diesel locomotives for medium-sized passenger and freight train services. In 1964/65, LKM Babelsberg delivered two prototype locomotives of the new V 100 series. The series machines were built at LEW Hennigsdorf. Over the long period from 1966 to 1985, a total of 1,146 locomotives with various engine powers were built. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the machines quickly became redundant and were taken out of service. However, many of them were preserved and are now in use by private railways. Some of these locomotives have been extensively modernized and re-engined. Follow the active period at the Reichsbahn and the last years at the DB in old and new pictures. See V 100 in bright colors at private railways throughout Germany. Running time approx. 50 minutes. More about the DR V100 here: https://www.ekshop.de/dvd-cd/dvd/stol...
