Trolleybuses first started operating in Ústí nad Labem in 1987, i.e. 17 years after the local tram service was abolished. Passengers could ride for the first time the following year on the route Holoměř - Mírové náměstí - Stříbrníky. Especially during the 1990s, the network expanded to other parts of the city (Všebořice, Dobětice, Krásné Březno, Mojžíř, Klíše, Staré Předlice, Skalka). The last significant extension was the construction of the line to Střekov. Currently, there are 11 trolleybus lines operating in Ústí nad Labem, of which 9 run at intervals of 20 minutes during peak hours and 15 minutes during peak hours. In the early days of trolleybuses in Ústí, the fleet consisted of Škoda 14Tr and 15Tr cars. While we no longer see the 14Tr in regular service, the Škoda 15Tr in various modifications still makes up half of the vehicle fleet. From more recent times, Škoda trolleybuses 27Tr and 28Tr are represented, supplemented in smaller numbers by types 21Tr, 22Tr and 25Tr.
