The information is stated in Decree 168/2024 on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of road traffic order and safety; deduction and restoration of driving license points, effective from January 1, 2025. The regulations on deduction of driving license points will be applied from 2025 when the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety takes effect. If all points are deducted, the driver will not be allowed to drive a vehicle with that type of driving license. After at least 6 months from the date of deduction of all points, the driver will be allowed to participate in the legal knowledge test to restore the driving license points. According to Decree 168, drivers of cars and similar vehicles, four-wheeled vehicles carrying people on the road with alcohol concentration in blood or breath, but not exceeding 50 mg/100 ml of blood or 0.25 mg/liter of breath, will be fined 6-8 million VND (equal to current regulations). The additional penalty is the deduction of 4 driving license points (currently the license is revoked for 10-12 months).
