Sabina and Ary often experience people turning around on the street when they recognize them as a couple. Especially in the early years, they encountered a lot of misunderstanding and prejudice. Ary was accused of only marrying Sabina for her money and called him her young lover boy. For these reasons, they decided to go public with their story. “I want to encourage other women to dare to live and love outside the norm.” In 2011, Ary and Sabina met at the badminton club. Sabina is the club’s chairman and has brought a group of Indonesian players to Trittau, including Ary, who was 20 at the time. At first, Sabina finds her feelings for Ary, who is 33 years younger than her, strange. But the two fall in love and become a couple. When Ary tells Sabina about his strong desire to have children, she feels guilty. She blames herself for not being able to fulfill Ary’s wish because of her age. But she is wrong. Miraculously, Sabina becomes pregnant after the fourth artificial insemination, even though she has already gone through the menopause. When they then find out that they are expecting twins, it is like a dream for both of them. They are extremely happy, especially Ary. Two weeks later, the next surprise awaits: the ultrasound shows three heartbeats. “This is going to be hard,” Sabina says to Ary. In 2019, the three children were born prematurely but healthy, and Sabina was right when she said it was hard. Although Sabina is tough, she regularly reaches her limits in the first few years. They can only cope with everyday life with combined forces and outside support. Both also only work part-time in the dentist's office that Sabina runs with her ex-husband. Nino, Luis and Rafa have been attending kindergarten for a few months. Sabina and Ary can finally spend more time together as a couple again, because their time together has suffered a lot in recent years.
