Adventure Time is a series about two very good friends: Jake, a wise old dog with a big heart, and Finn, a boy who wants to become a hero more than anything. These two guys are all they have in terms of family. They support each other through thick and thin, confide in each other's secrets, and seek each other's advice when problems get out of hand. More importantly, Finn and Jake make fun of each other by acting like fools and making ridiculous jokes as they traverse the great treacherous land. You probably wouldn't know it at first glance, but Finn is a great hero. It's true that he's passionate about heroism. For a twelve-year-old boy, saving princesses and fighting evil wizards is an admirable hobby. Finn doesn't know why he's obligated to protect good from evil; he just understands that it's necessary. It might be in his blood, maybe his parents were nobles and did good like him. Maybe they were royal cosmic cowboys who fought intergalactic bandits in space, maybe they were leaders of righteous dinosaur knights. Finn doesn't know his mysterious origin. Although he doesn't have the skills to win the battle, Finn is a raging little brat when it comes to fighting evil. Finn isn't very muscular, he's kind of small with a big head and little feet. What Finn does have is a strong moral determination, clear values and a lot of courage! That's what makes him a hero. Being strong to face adversity. Taking risks to protect the ones he loves. Finn enjoys doing kid things like making up songs and crashing a big party. And when evil isn't out of control, Finn is happy spending his free time jumping on rocks, rolling around in the grass or exploring his favorite adventure spots. Jake is a great big brother or uncle to Finn. Sure, they're young, but in dog years, Jake is 28. Jake is a jokester, all jokes are jokes until he gets serious. And when he's serious, like when Finn is feeling down or sad, Jake is a good listener and knows the thoughtful thing to say.
