This week's Ciência é Tudo talks about graphene, a material with an atomic dimension that is more advanced than steel and an excellent conductor of heat and electricity. Graphene is considered one of the most promising elements in the world and could generate a true technological revolution. In this episode, you will learn about the applications of graphene in several areas and the latest developments in the use of this material. The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and the Financing Agency for Studies and Projects (FINEP) published a study with the technological panorama of graphene. The document presents the applications of the material, the challenges of the industry and the Brazilian context, in addition to addressing recent public policy initiatives that aim to stimulate the creation of knowledge and new businesses related to nanomaterials and advanced materials. Another initiative by MCTI, in partnership with the Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation (EMBRAPII), was the creation of the EMBRAPII/MCTI Graphene Innovation Network. The proposal is to encourage research and development of industrial applications for the material in the country, which promises to revolutionize the industrial process and the existing business model.
