In the 195th episode of the podcast Pod kapicom, we talked about Nenad Nena Manojlović, a man who, with his work, both as a professional coach, and with his managerial and organizational skills, left an indelible mark on the history of Serbian water polo. Last month marked the tenth anniversary of Nena Manojlović's death, so our podcast wanted to remind us, through the memories of Jugoslav Vasović and Dejan Stevović, of the role and importance of the great coach and man, whose system and effective and hard work are still woven into the successes of the most trophy-winning sport in Serbia today. In 2000, Nena took over the national team as a coach, won a bronze medal at the Sydney Olympics, four years later led the national team at the Athens Games (silver), and then his students Dejan Udovičić, Dejan Savić and Uroš Stevanović took over the national team, who led the "dolphins" to new sporting feats and nurtured water polo as the best Serbian sports brand. Vasović recalled anecdotes from his playing career, about the just and strict attitude of the famous Brka, his dedication to every detail, how he stimulated everyone around him to work, Stevović talked about Nena's relationship with journalists, his perseverance to ensure that every junior result sees the light of day in the sports press, with the inevitable picturesquely described situations that characterized Manojlović's specific sense of humor and attitude towards sport that is almost unrepeatable.
