In the series WHAT'S HAPPENING -- IN GERMAN FILM?, the cinema of the German Film Museum presents a current work once a month. After the screening, journalists talk to the filmmakers about the German film scene. In February 2014, we showed the latest work by cabaret artist Gerhard Polt, who had already delighted audiences with his early films such as KEHRAUS (1983) and MAN SPRICHT DEUTSH (1988). Both films are part of a small homage that will be shown as a late night cult cinema in February. In UND ÄKTSCHN!, Polt now pokes fun at financial capitalism and the film industry in a hilarious and biting way. // Thursday, February 20, 2014
