Follow the Boat Trip from Macapá to Belém. The Amazon River, located in South America, is the largest river in terms of water volume in the world. At 6,992.06 kilometers, it runs through the north of South America, the Amazon rainforest and flows into the Atlantic Ocean.[2] It has more than a thousand tributaries,[3] some of which, such as the Madeira, the Negro and the Japurá, are among the 10 largest rivers on the planet.[4 , ]The Amazon River is, by far, the river with the greatest water flow per discharge, with an average higher than that of the next seven largest rivers combined (excluding the Madeira and the Negro Rivers, which are tributaries of the Amazon itself). The Amazon, which has the largest river basin in the world, with over 7 million square kilometers, is responsible for about one-fifth of the world's total river flow,[5][6] and the water that flows through the Amazon rivers is equivalent to 20% of the Earth's liquid fresh water.[4] The Amazon has its origins in the source of the Apurímac River (high in the western part of the Andes mountain range), in southern Peru, and flows into the Atlantic Ocean, in northern Brazil. Along its course, it receives, still in Peru, the names of Carhuasanta, Lloqueta, Apurímac, Ene River, Tambo River, Ucayali and Amazonas. It enters Brazilian territory with the name of Solimões River and finally, in Manaus, after joining the Negro River, as soon as their waters mix it receives the name of Amazonas and as such continues until its mouth in the Atlantic Ocean. Its mouth is classified as mixed, as it has an estuary and a delta mouth. The Amazon River is the only river with a mixed mouth in the world. Most of the river is located in the Amazon sedimentary plain, although its source is entirely rugged and high altitude. The riverside vegetation is mostly lush, with the Amazon rainforests predominating.[7] The area covered by water in the Amazon River and its tributaries more than triples during the seasons. On average, 110,000 km² are submerged during the dry season, while in the rainy season this area can reach 350,000 km². At its widest point, it reaches 11 km in width during the dry season, which becomes 50 km during the rainy season. Its waters are muddy and cold, reaching a depth of 100 m. As it is a lowland river, it is navigable throughout its entire length. Pix. [email protected] ???? BECOME A MEMBER AND BECOME A SUPPORTER OF THE MAX SILVA VIAGENS CHANNEL AND ENJOY MANY ADVANTAGES!
