In the age of technology we no longer understand the world starting from an ultimate meaning. History is no longer inscribed in an end. The only possible ethics is that which takes charge of pure processuality: without a goal, like the journey of the traveler. The ethics of the traveler opposes the anthropological ethics of the dominion of the Earth. Unlike the traveler, in fact, the traveler has no goal: his nomadic journey, anything but an anarchic wandering, takes charge of the absence of a purpose, he travels the earth without possessing it, because he knows that life belongs to nature. The philosopher Galimberti in this lectio guides us through these thoughts «still all to be thought» aware that «the landscape they unfold is already our unstable, temporary and unfinished home». Lectio magistralis by Umberto Galimberti at the opening of the 10th Festival of Human Dignity. Saturday 28 September 2024 at the Cinema Teatro Nuovo Borgomanero. Presented by Enrico Ferrari, with final readings by Lucilla Giagnoni, from texts by Giannino Piana. Opening greeting by Luisella Ferrari
