Public transport in Utrecht renewed in one weekend: an impression of Operation U-OV on 7 and 8 December 2013. It was the transition to the new carrier Qbuzz, which will provide public transport in the Utrecht region under the brand name U-OV until 2023. On 7 December 2013, the transport company GVU/Connexxion was still operating in the Utrecht region, on 8 December U-OV was launched. The transition to the new carrier had to take place largely in one weekend. More than 130 new (very clean) buses were delivered, existing buses and trams had to be adapted, as well as information boards, OV chip machines, traffic control equipment, etc. This video gives an impression of this extensive operation with a look behind the scenes.
