The models available on the market vary according to the operating system, angle of action, jet range, number of nozzles and pressure intensity. Types of sprinklers by operating system In terms of operating system, there are two main differences between the most common types of sprinklers: fixed ones, which work as diffusers, and rotary ones. Fixed sprinklers have been the preferred types for the central pivot irrigation system. Rotary sprinklers are the most common, used in conventional or reel sprinkler irrigation.
