August 23, 2012 The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force's largest live-fire training exercise, the Fuji Comprehensive Firepower Exercise, was opened to the public on the 26th at the Higashi-Fuji Training Area (Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture). Approximately 2,400 people participated in the exercise, with approximately 80 tanks and armored vehicles, approximately 80 artillery pieces, and approximately 30 aircraft. The latest Type 10 tank was shown firing for the first time.
