Alexander Grund and Gülsün Koc have consciously decided to work in a secondary school, although this type of school is becoming less and less respected. The two teachers do not want to complain, but rather open up opportunities for their students. Most of their students do not have it easy: many of them have learning difficulties. Some come from broken families, many from migrant families, which means they have no one at home who can help them with their homework. Some speak little German and can hardly keep up in class. Alexander Grund, 40 years old, and his 35-year-old colleague Gülsün Koc are paid to impart factual knowledge to the students. But they do much more: they impart values, encourage them, they are educators and social workers, they prepare the children for adulthood and give them orientation. Both work with a lot of idealism, commitment and composure. Teacher Gülsun Koc is herself the child of foreign parents; teacher Alexander Grund is gay, he wears make-up and sometimes dresses eccentrically. The teachers are as diverse as the Walter Kolb School in Frankfurt as a whole. Nevertheless, they also speak out uncomfortable truths about the school system and talk about their wishes for students and lessons. hessenreporter author Antonella Berta accompanies the two teachers for a half-year during lessons, on school trips, during report card preparation and when issuing them. The report documents their everyday commitment to a good future for young people and against a lack of discipline and bad social behavior. Secondary school - it becomes clear - is not the end of the line, but basically offers opportunities - which just have to be seized. ????You can find even more exciting documentaries and reports from us here: https://1.ard.de/Dokus_und_Reportagen... ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ????You can find even more exciting documentaries and reports from ARD here: https://1.ard.de/Alle_ARD_Dokus_und_R... ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ????You can find our documentaries and reports on YouTube for commenting here: https://1.ard.de/Dokus_und_Reportagen... ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ????Subscribe to our channel here so you don't miss any information from Hesse: / @hessischerrundfunkard ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ????You can find more current content from Hessischer Rundfunk here: https://www.ardmediathek.de/hr/ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ????You can find current information on events in Hesse here: https://www.hessenschau.de/index.html ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ????You don't want to miss anything?
