In lively San Gimignano, ice cream maker Sergio Dondoli has passionately made his ice cream known far beyond Italy's borders. Jockey Andrea Peruzzi is preparing for his start in the annual donkey race in the tranquil village of Torrita di Siena. The "Palio dei Somari" is the highlight of a colorful medieval festival, which has a long tradition throughout Italy.
