On February 27, 2022, three days after Russia's attack on Ukraine, Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz made a government statement. In the very first sentence of his speech in the Bundestag, he used the term "turning point". Suddenly, terms such as defense capability and war capability were making the rounds and many people suddenly realized that the time of peaceful coexistence in Europe was obviously over. The Europeans' commitment to Ukraine is viewed in Russia as an act of war. The rhetoric on both sides is reminiscent of the darkest times of the Cold War. The Bundeswehr, Germany, will have to adapt to these changes. But the full scope and how this can be done and how the resources can be made available for it are currently occupying politics and society. The film explores the question of what the turning point, what this paradigm shift also means for Saarland. What is happening at the Bundeswehr's local locations, how does the Saarland public perceive it and what is happening behind the scenes?
