Esther Keim flies low and slow in her small plane over rural south-central Alaska, dropping frozen turkeys to people living in roadless Alaska. The Alaska Turkey Bomb is a tribute to the time when Keim grew up off Alaska’s highway network, and a family friend would airdrop turkeys to her family and others in the area for the holidays. Other times, the pilot would drop newspapers, sometimes with a pack of gum inside for Keim, a treat for a child who can’t run to the local store. #thanksgiving #alaska Want more stories?
