The Tu-134B-3 airliner of AZAL (Azerbaijan Airlines) was performing a regular passenger flight A-56 on the Nakhchivan-Baku route, when one of its engines failed shortly after takeoff. Confused by the situation, the crew mistakenly turned off the second, serviceable engine. Then the commander decided to make an emergency landing on the field, but when trying to turn away from residential areas, he accidentally put the plane into too steep a bank with a rapid loss of altitude.
