"Tristan and Isolde" is a medieval chivalric romance that has existed in numerous variations since the 12th century as interpreted by actress Tatyana Lyannik on the @lyannik @tatianalyannik channel. Tristan and Isolde (Tristan & Isolde or Tristan & Yseult) are legendary characters in medieval chivalric romances. There are parallels to the novel's motifs in ancient Eastern, antique, Caucasian and other legends, but this legend came to the poetry of feudal Europe in a Celtic design, with Celtic names, with characteristic everyday features. This legend arose in the region of Ireland and Celticized Scotland and was first historically associated with the name of the Pictish prince Drustan, or Drostan (8th century). From there it moved to Wales and Cornwall, where it acquired a number of new features. Thus, in the Welsh "Triads of the Island of Britain", created in the 11th-12th centuries, Drostan is called the son of King Talluh, or Talorc, whose real historical prototype lived in the 6th century. In the 12th century, the tale became known to Anglo-Norman jugglers, one of whom, around 1140, adapted it into a French novel ("prototype") in verse, which has not reached us, but served as a source for all (or almost all) of its subsequent literary adaptations, including the so-called "courtly" or "lyrical" version created around 1170 by the Anglo-Norman poet Thomas of Britain, and the "simple" or "epic" version created around 1191 by Béroul. Around 1230, a voluminous prose novel (The Romance of Tristan and Isolde) was created on their basis. The action of the novel takes place simultaneously at the court of King Mark, Isolde's husband and Tristan's uncle, and at the court of King Arthur, while Tristan himself is portrayed as one of the Knights of the Round Table and seekers of the legendary Grail.
