One of Brazil's greatest instrumentalists, Paulo Moura broke all boundaries between popular music and so-called concert music. The first black soloist to join the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, the clarinetist, saxophonist, composer and arranger also had a prominent role in choro, jazz and samba – especially during Carnival, with the Imperatriz Leopoldinense school. With an extensive discography, in 1983 Paulo Moura released the album “Mistura e Manda”, still considered a classic for combining the sounds of choro, samba and gafieira. In this show celebrating the 40th anniversary of the album's release, Paulo Moura is honored by clarinetists Daniela Spielmann (RJ), Alexandre Ribeiro (SP) and Caetano Brasil (MG). In addition to the reinterpretation of the album “Mistura e Manda” in its entirety, the show features interpretations of other compositions by Paulo Moura, as well as songs dedicated to him. The soloists were accompanied by Henrique Araújo (cavaquinho), Marcelo Martins (cavaco-mandolin), Rogério Caetano (7-string guitar), João Camarero (6-string guitar), Xeina Barros (percussion), Alfredo Castro (percussion), Rafael Toledo (percussion), Allan Abbadia (trombone) and Fábio Peron (mandolin).
