They ensure that the electoral process is conducted in a fair and transparent manner. Organization of the TRE Each TRE is composed of seven members: Two judges of the state Court of Justice. Two judges of law chosen by the Court of Justice. One judge of the Federal Regional Court. Two lawyers appointed by the President of the Republic, indicated by the Court of Justice1. Competencies of the TRE The main competencies of the TREs include: Organization and supervision of elections: They are responsible for organizing and conducting state and federal elections, ensuring that all stages of the process are carried out correctly2. Registration of candidates: They analyze and approve the registration of candidates for state and federal elective positions3. Judgment of electoral processes: They judge appeals and processes related to electoral issues, such as challenges to candidacies and electoral infractions4.
