The citizens of Užice faced with the German occupation, molded into their own lives and exposed to new harsh circumstances and a group of traveling actors torn between reality and the fantasy of their art. Where is the border between art and life. How dramatic fiction intertwines with real life situations and characters. "Traveling Theater Šopalović" is certainly one of the best (if not the best) drama by academician Ljubomir Simović. This drama, which perfectly balances between realism and poetic strangeness, was premiered on October 10, 1985 by the Yugoslav Drama Theater under the direction of Dejan Mijač. This play is certainly also one of Mijač's best directions, and it occupies an important place in the history of JDP. Mijač gathered a great cast. Miloš Žutić, Djurdjija Cvetić, Jasmina Ranković, Miša Janketić, Branka Petrić and the rest of the JDP ensemble played unforgettable roles, and Gojko Šantić in the role of Dropac made the "role of a lifetime". The play won many awards at festivals in the country and abroad, and it was filmed for television in 1986.
