This city in Romania is a wonderful example of a fortified medieval city that played an important strategic and trading role on the outskirts of Central Europe for several centuries. Vlad III Tepes, also known as Dracula, was born in the city. 🧛‍♂️ Popular rumor has given Vlad the glory of a vampire, and the British writer Bram Stoker made him the hero of a novel and the most famous character in Transylvanian history.
