TRANSFER OF TETRAGONA CLAVIPES (BORÁ) - LOTS OF PROPOLIS! Check out this Management ???? Be part of our Community: https://bit.ly/Quero-ser-Meliponicultor ???? In this video, Vilmar gives us valuable tips on the Management of the Borá bee (Tetragona clavipes), an ASF that has been much talked about here on the Mel no Quintal Channel. In our Meliponário, we even created a space dedicated to them - the Vila das Borás! Here, we show how to transfer the bait from a gallon to an inpa box. In this case, the bait was reused and the borás filled the spaces with lots of propolis! This substance is used to seal gaps and protect the hive from this and other Stingless Bees. With great skill, it was possible to remove all the parts of the 5L gallon and transfer them to the modules of the wooden box. In this case, we transferred and reinforced a swarm that was very weak. The transfer went smoothly, with green and mature brood discs. Now the crowned or nascent discs were placed in this weak box, in an attempt to save a queen. We will soon share the results of both here, fellow Meliponicultor! And finally, Vilmar shows us how to suck new bees, with a manual sucker, a procedure necessary to catch bees that have not yet made external flights. ????????
