The Reggio Calabria Centrale station is the main railway station in Calabria. Inaugurated in 1866, in 2015 it has 10 platforms for passenger service and 144 trains between arrivals and departures. Two important lines originate from Reggio Calabria Centrale: the Reggio Calabria–Battipaglia, which is the fundamental north-south axis of the Italian and Ionian network, and the Reggio Calabria–Metaponto. In the video, some shots were also taken at the Reggio Calabria O.ME.CA station, the first stop on the Reggio Calabria–Metaponto starting from Reggio Calabria Centrale. The second part of the video is dedicated to the Villa S.Giovanni station, the second in importance and passenger flow in Calabria. Opened in 1884, its passenger building was completed only in 1937, and in 2015 it counts 101 trains between arrivals and departures. It is one of the stations of the Southern Tyrrhenian railway, important for the connection with the port of Villa S. Giovanni from where the trains are ferried to Sicily with continuation on the Messina - Syracuse and Messina - Palermo lines. Enjoy the show! A heartfelt thanks to Antonino Romeo and Francesco Crea, who contributed to the success of the filming. ENGLISH: Reggio Calabria Central station is the most important station of Calabria.
